APPEARANCE

Appearance & reputation: Big, powerful but very slender and long build skeleton. He has a stern look and a very low voice, so he can be very intense. Otherwise he comes across as careless, not interested and independent.  He has this vibe of ‘don’t mess with me’.

Shoulder height: 1.70m

Physical description

Body: Quite long-lined , slender body build and yet with a rather sturdy skeleton. His legs are long and rather straight. Back is slightly concave, rather similar to that of an Eurasian lynx. Quite heavy musculature, especially in his front limbs. Quite angular hindquarters and pelvis. He wears his tail straight down with the tailtip in a little L-shape. Big paws with rather long, slender fingers. Straight, high placed, slightly thin neck. He carries his head high.

Head: quite angular and narrow with a rather fine but long triangular shaped muzzle. Slight ‘stop’ in his otherwise straight profile. The back of his head is rather angular too. Light blue eyes that give an intense look. Triangular shaped ears, that are high placed and slightly curved.

Fur: Dark blue-gray with a subtle snow-leopard like rosette pattern. His colour is slightly diluted so his markings are not black but very dark gray. Darker, blue-gray coloured paws. The rosettes are slightly lighter in the center. Overall rather short haired but with longer hair on his belly, tail, sides of his jaws/head, throat and chin. His fur is thick and sturdy enough to withstand the Scandinavian climate.

Jewelry & accessories: Mostly nothing. Later on, he may inherit something from his grandfather Matthias.

PERSONALITY & CHARACTER

Personality and mannerisms:
Myers-Briggs personality type: ISTJ-A (the 'logistician')
Calm and very assertive with a lot of pride and ego. He has the natural leader appearance without being very dominant. He is straight to the point and communicates with as few words as possible. He can be social, but is mostly solitary and doesn’t give others much attention.

In most cases, he is very patient and tolerant – often ignoring other siderians near him. However, when others cross a line and show him disrespect, he has zero patience and can come across as bad-tempered. He will let other siderians know clearly where his tolerance ends. Where this limit is, depends in a bit on his mood. Otherwise he respects freedom of opinion and prefers brutal honesty over lies. 

Ravn is mostly solitary and independent, avoiding social situations. He is good at calculating risks but is not afraid to take them. His confidence is rock-solid.  He is not very interested in other but can be quite focused on his own personal interests. One fun-fact is that he seems to become very talkative when drunk (yes, I think siderians might have figured out the effect of alcohol as well). And somehow, that seems to happen to him a few times.

Type of humor: blunt sarcasm, like his father.
Voice, manner of speaking : Very very heavy! Often too low to understand him well. No good voice reference yet.

Sexuality: heterosexual and quite polygamous.
Spirituality and philosophy: “save yourself” is his philosophy. I’m not so sure about his spirituality.
Fears: Loss of body function.
Dreams: Discovering more about how ecals and animal brains can communicate.                                       

Interest, hobbies, occupation:
He developed a very strong interest in how intellithos works. Intellithos is the siderian equivalent of internet, based on ‘metaphysical’ crystals, named ecals, that run like fibers through the Earth’s crust and interact with life. Ravn has a special interest in how to encrypt messages and safely transfer and store information. He is quite into ‘programming’, but I still don’t know how that works exactly.
Other than that, he just likes wandering alone over his vast territory.

Special skills:  His vast knowledge of intellithos and the interaction between ecals and animal brains – and the fine skills of securing information on intellithos.

STORY
Ravn was the first born cub of Malta and Axel. He was born on the mighty Sætansen lands in a relative turbulent time. His father was often occupied keeping intruding, neighboring siderians off, and there was a growing threat of humans. However, Ravn didn’t really care and with his rather fearless nature he just followed his own interested.

However, when his cousin died in a snare-trap nearby, his mother no longer felt safe on the Sætansen lands. She took the three years old Ravn along and moved back to her native grounds on the Island of Ice and Fire ( tIceF, to humans Iceland). That was a big adventure for Ravn and he didn’t even miss his home-ground and his dad. Soon after their arrival, his sister Yava was born.

Little Ravn always found himself other challenges to keep himself occupied. Not everything was approved of by his mother. Especially when he learned how to make fire. There were not many other siderian cubs in the metacluster (Boiling Bay) of tIceF, so Ravn had to search for other (naughty) activities. When his little sister was reaching an age of three, Malta took the cubs back to the Sætansen lands in the Fjordlands (Norway). The situation had calmed down and it was safe enough for both cubs to live there.

Ravn got a bit more in touch with his cousin Goran, who was a few years older, but he quickly figured that hanging around alone was more his thing. When he grew a little older, he got more and more curious about his mysterious grandfather, Matthias, who was often referred to as ‘the head of the family’. He had rarely seen him, but he learned that his grandpaw worked on mysterious things, deep down in the Sætansen Fortress (a gigantic cave with many ecal connections and many old family heritages). However, his mother had forbidden him to visit his grandpaw, for reasons unknown to him.

When he became an adolescent, he became seriously interested in intellithos (siderian internet, based on ecals) and he spend most of his time in the nearest metacluster, Mistfjord or in the Sætansen Fortress. He was so occupied by this, that the growing threat of humans didn’t really concern him. When his cousin Stian disappeared, he did get a little worried, but once Stian was saved and back, the worries quickly disappeared.

When Ravn reached his twenties, he got quite some sexual interest and had been wandering around on both this family lands, and on other territories. He was becoming a ‘free electron’ and had been mating with several females. At least with two he got a cub (Sabyn and Sevrin, born from different mates).

He maintained his free, unbound life-style but once Stian mysteriously disappeared, seemingly for good, and his family lands were under attack, he got more involved with the defence of the Sætansen lands. The intruding humans were becoming more of a problem, especially when his mother got shot as well. She survived and came back to full function, but now he concluded that it was serious.  

After many years, Yava and his cousin Goran had found out where Stian was and went after him. When they all came back, Stian started up the Fjordland Force – an organized group of siderians who fight against the invading humans. Despite Ravn’s free, independent nature, he got an interest in this and saw the relevance. He joined many of the missions and contributed with his advanced knowledge of intellithos, for the many years to come.
